ABDOULIE CONTEH Mbour, Senegal •Artist (Painting) •Born 1972 •Abdoulie Conteh, a contemporary painter based in Senegal, emerges as a self-taught artist with a passion for creating evocative artworks. Born and raised in the Gambia, West Africa, Abdoulie embarked on a journey of artistic exploration, drawing inspiration from his surroundings and cultivating his unique style. Although his formal education was incomplete, Abdoulie's artistic journey took an independent and self-directed path. His innate talent and dedication to the craft led him to become a proficient self-taught artist, showcasing his works in exhibitions both in the Gambia and the United Kingdom. Abdoulie Conteh's commitment to art extends beyond personal expression. He has generously contributed to the community by offering art performances for needy students in a charity school in Senegal, exemplifying his belief in the transformative power of art. Currently based in Mbour, Senegal, Abdoulie has established his own art studio, where he engages in the creative process with a brush in hand and an inspiration that flows naturally. His artistic endeavors reflect a love for people and animals, as well as a deep appreciation for the elements that enrich life.
